“Winning the war on cancer” – thanks to early detection and screening

Over the past few decades, the world has made impressive progress in preventing and fighting cancer.
Deaths are decreasing – not because fewer people get cancer, but because we are getting better at detecting and treating it in time. A major contributor to the decrease in deaths is early detection through screening.

According to data recently published by The Economist:

• 53% of avoided deaths were due to reduced smoking.
• 23% due to improved screening.
• 20% due to improved treatment.

This means that almost one in four lives saved can be traced directly to screening / early detection. It’s hard to overestimate the value of that. According to this data, screening is thus more important than improved treatment.

Executive Health of course agrees with the message in the Economist article.

Be smart – do the best and most comprehensive screening examination on the market at Executive Health on a regular basis.
